Word of Life began in 1940 when Jack Wrytzen saw the need to reach out to young people with the Gospel through a small 500 watt radio station.

Today Word of Life has expanded to 66 Countries to proclaim the Gospel through various church- building ministries such as youth camps, Bible Clubs, Bible Institutes, Evangelistic campaigns, and radio.

Currently Word of Life Puerto Rico is an incorporated Christian mission organization committed to reaching and teaching youth with the gospel of Jesus Christ. We are a local charity serving and training leaders from a number of churches across our island to have effective and dynamic local church youth ministries.

Word of Life Puerto Rico works in fellowship with Word of Life Fellowship Inc. of Schroon Lake, New York, U.S.A. We share a common mission and purpose and enjoy the benefits of international association and cooperation. Word of life International ministers to youth in forty eight (62) countries worldwide and is best known for exciting Christian camping, Bible institutes, local church training and evangelism.

Reaching the youth with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Reaching youth and adults through this dynamic ministry is the Word of Life trademark.  Annually more than 15,000 attend youth camps and more than 25,000 attend conferences at Word of Life facilities in the United States. This year we will be renting facilities in Puerto Rico for our first Word of Life Camp on the Island.

Partnering with more than 800 churches in the USA and helping them to establish foundational truths in the lives of young people, this outreach is effective in helping to disciple today’s youth.  Word of Life sponsored evangelistic events are also integrated to help churches reach unsaved youth in their local area.

The ministry’s commitment to the evangelism and discipleship of youth continues on stronger than ever.  We believe we have a responsibility that is best summarized by this statement from Jack Wyrtzen… “I believe it is the responsibility of every generation to reach their generation with the Gospel of Christ.”
